Library
UNIVATES library has more than 40,000 titles distributed among books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, newspapers among other sources. These add up to approximately 90,000 volumes available to be borrowed by students or community members.
Regional Database
The Regional Database manages more than 110,000 data used to provide information, mainly about the 37 municipalities that make up the Taquari Valley. Moreover, it renders research services and performs socio-economic and record surveys in the region.
Culture Center
The function of this organ at UNIVATES is to stimulate the cultural-artistic production that happens in a variety of artistic manifestations, and to preserve the cultural and historic wealth of the Taquari Valley. One of its highlights is the UNIVATES Choir, made up by students, alumni, staff, faculty and community members.
Hydro-meteorological Information Center
The Hydro-meteorological Information Center monitors Taquari-Antas River and Jacui River Basin, and has a meteorological station in Lajeado municipality. Besides predicting floods, it is used for developing research projects on meteorology and hydrology. This center also produces weather forecast and statistics in the hydro-meteorological area.
Information Technology Training Center
The Information Technology Training Center is a reference when it comes to information and technology training. Its purposes are Continued Education, the access to technological cutting edge certifications and the promotion of events to disseminate the technological solutions more widely used in the market.
Natural Science Museum
The Natural Science Museum is an organ of research, teaching and extension, structured in a way so as to organize didactic material used in Zoology, Botanic and Geology disciplines. In its area of 1,000 square meters, its visitors canl see a collection of 25,000 items distributed in a variety of sectors: Archeology, Arthropodes, Botanic and Paleobotanic, Ecology, Remote Sensoring and Vertebrate Zoology.
UNIVATES Radio
UNIVATES Radio, 95.1 FM has an educative-cultural purpose. Its programming blends music and information related to daily life at the university and in the community. Furthermore, it is used as a laboratory by the students attending Social Communication programs.
Unianálises
UNIVATES Analytical Service Laboratories UNIANÁLISES provide the means for increasing quality control in microbiological and physicochemical aspects. It performs analysis in foods, water, waste, soils, cosmetic and household sanitary products. In its laboratory complex it is located the Microbiological Analysis Laboratory, the only private laboratory in Rio Grande do Sul accredited by Agriculture Department for official microbiological analysis of foods and water; these are analyzed either for import or export purposes.
Gym
Faculty, students, staff and alumni can attend UNIVATES gym. Located on Lajeado campus, it is opened from Monday to Friday and it offers machine workout and jump classes.
The Sport Assessment and Training Center
The Sport Assessment and Training Center was created to reveal sports talents in the Taquari Valley. It was made possible when UNIVATES joined the project Sports Talent Discovery, of the Sports Department; its purpose is to develop the technical training of its attendants.
Market Relations Office
Focusing on the the Taquari Valley development, UNIVATES has in its premises the Market Relations Office. It is in charge of promoting and intermediating activities of transferring expertise and services generated within the university to the market, as well as having its technological offers meeting the market requirements.
Publishing House
UNIVATES Publishing House was created in 1996 and dedicates to the publishing and dissemination of academic, literary and university production in the Taquari Valley. By late 2005 it had produced 817 publications, namely books, magazines, newspapers, brochures, manuals and newsletters.
Editing, co-editing and re-editing of papers in the areas of teaching, extension, research and graduate courses are also done by the publishing house.
UNIVATES Connection Program
Its objective is to guarantee that UNIVATES alumni have refreshing/updating opportunities, as well as keep the bonds between university and former student; finally it enables him/her to access the services offered by this institution. Through its Alumni Center, UNIVATES keeps a follow up from program completion, maintaining them involved with continued education activities (courses, seminars and lectures), as well as through cultural, social and sport activities.
