O esporte, atualmente, é conteúdo prioritário na Educação Física Escolar. Entretanto, critica-se a reprodução do esporte de rendimento desta, sendo que dever-se-ia ensinar um esporte com fins pedagógicos e características escolares. Nesse contexto, situam-se os Jogos Escolares. Essa pesquisa objetiva analisar a relação dos Jogos Escolares com a Educação Física Escolar. Para isto, entrevistou-se cinco professores da Rede Municipal de uma cidade do Vale do Taquari/RS/BR, que lecionam nos Anos Finais do Ensino Fundamental e que participam dos Jogos Escolares. Constatou-se que os Jogos Escolares influenciam na Educação Física Escolar, pois conteúdos, planejamento anual e método de seleção dos participantes
ocorrem de acordo com a proposta dos Jogos. Apesar de os Jogos serem pautados no esporte de rendimento, há princípios educacionais visualizados pelos professores, tais como a cooperação, a coeducação, o respeito e a socialização. Todavia, os professores perceberam também atritos e situações que contradizem estes princípios; e a partir disto, pôde-se refletir sobre a possibilidade de mudanças e outros modelos de Jogos a fim de alcançar os princípios pedagógicos.
The sport, currently, is the priority content of School Physical Education. However, it is criticized the reproduction of performance sports in School Physical Education, once it should be taught a sport with pedagogical purpose and scholar characteristics. Is in this 3 context that the School Games are situated. This research aims itself to analyze the relation of the School Games with the Physical Education. To do so, it was interviewed five professors from the Municipal Network of the Municipally of Vale do Taquari/RS/BRA, which teach in the Final Years of the elementary school and participate of the School Games. It was found that the School Games have influence in the School Physical Education, once the taught content, annual planning and selection method of the participants occur according with the Games proposal. Despite the Games are patterned in performance sports there are educational principles visualized by the professors, such as cooperation, respect and socialization. However, the professors also noticed conflicts and situations that contradict these principles, and, from this, it could be reflected the possibility of changes and other Games models in order to reach the pedagogical principles.
