Vice-rector participates in a meeting of higher education institutions
The National Postgraduate and Research Meeting of Private Higher Education Institutions happened between Thursday, the 13th, and Friday the 14th. It was held with the National Meeting of the Extension Forum of Private HEIs. The event took place in Rio de Janeiro, at the Veiga de Almeida University. Univates was represented by the vice-rector of the Institution, professor Carlos Cândido da Silva Cyrne.
With the theme "The Evaluation of Higher Education - Challenges and perspectives from the viewpoint of teaching, research and extension", the annual meeting aimed to analyze the alternatives and strategies for the consolidation and expansion of research, undergraduate, postgraduate and extension of the universities. In addition, it provides a suitable environment for the analysis and discussion of the most relevant issues to HEI leaders.
Cyrne spoke at the meeting and discussed the new assessment tools and challenges for graduation. The professor spoke about several issues such as the relevance of developing an innovative curriculum that promotes student autonomy and the use of research and extension as educational principles in a university. He also argued about the evaluation of the courses, which, according to him, is more and more demanding and in search of better quality.
“Participation in this type of event is important because it is a space for exchanging experiences and learning with other educational institutions, which allows us to reflect on possible improvements to be performed at Univates” Carlos Cândido da Silva Cyrne, Vice-rector of Univates.
