UNIVATES seriously believes scientific research and education projects are the best way to acquire and extend knowledge. Our institutional activities aim to qualify our teachers and students to apply knowledge to benefit society.

Research and intellectual development are directly related, and Univates is committed to carrying out research in many branches of scientific knowledge, such as Life Sciences, Earth Sciences and Human Sciences.

We stimulate research in Undergraduate and Graduate Courses, in final term papers, dissertations, theses and in Undergraduate Research Programmes. 75 professors and 145 students who got scholarships from Univates, CNPq, FAPERGS and CAPES participate in Univates Undergraduate Research Programme.

Ten research projects are currently carried out in Environment and Development, 8 in Biotechnology, 3 in Mathematical Sciences Education, 2 in Education, in addition to 5 more research projects, all officially recognized by the University Council.
