The research sought to understand how this conflict can influence the transition to a more protectionist international scenario. The central hypothesis states that the evolution of tensions, especially with Iran's support for groups in the region, could intensify global protectionist tendencies as a result of the economic repercussions of a possible largescale war in the Middle East. The study is structured in six chapters, where the introduction presents the relevance of the topic, the second chapter offers the theoretical foundation, the third explores the history of Hamas, the fourth chapter discusses the history and formation of the State of Israel; the fifth chapter analyzes the foundations of the current conflict and the sixth considers the possible future developments of the conflict and its consequences for international security. The results show that the conflict between Israel and Hamas reflects complex power dynamics on the international stage, highlighting the need for peaceful solutions to contemporary global challenges.
