Resumo
Esta dissertação de mestrado, “Trabalhando com Unidades de medidas e Estimativas na Educação Infantil”, é resultado de uma investigação acerca do ensino de unidades de medidas e estimativas na Educação Infantil a partir do olhar da etnomatemática. Tal investigação foi realizada em Boa Vista, Roraima, com uma turma de Primeiro Período da Educação Infantil. Os objetivos da investigação foram: a) Operar com conceitos vinculados às unidades de medida e estimativas de uma turma de Educação Infantil; b) Elaborar uma prática pedagógica centrada em conceitos que envolvem as unidades de medida e estimativas; c) Problematizar e investigar semelhanças e diferenças entre as práticas de unidades de medida e estimativas escolar e não escolar. A aproximação com as teorizações do campo da etnomatemática ajudou a compreender o saber/fazer matemático dos alunos, procurando integrar os conhecimentos e os saberes do mundo social em que os indivíduos estavam inseridos. Do material de pesquisa – constituído por materiais produzidos pelos alunos, diário de campo da professora e gravações das aulas -, emergiram duas unidades de análise: a) Trabalhando conteúdos matemáticos, unidades de medidas e estimativas, por meio de instrumentos de medidas usualmente ausentes na escola; b) Processos de aprendizagem, estratégias e comparações vinculadas às formas de vidas das crianças. A presente investigação possibilitou a reflexão sobre o ensino da Matemática a partir das formas de vida dos alunos, problematizando a importância da Matemática na Educação Infantil e distintos modos de operar com conceitos matemáticos.
This dissertation, "Working with Units of measurements and estimates in kindergarten," is the result of an investigation about the teaching units of measurements and estimates in Early Childhood Education from the look of Ethnomathematics. This research was held in Boa Vista, Roraima, with a group of first period of early childhood education. The objectives of the research were: a) operate with concepts linked to units of measurement and estimates a group of Early Childhood Education; b) Develop a teaching practice centered on concepts involving measurement units and estimates; c) To discuss and investigate similarities and differences between the practices of measurement units and school and non-school estimates. The approach to the theories of the field of Ethnomathematics helped to understand the knowledge / math student, trying to integrate the expertise and knowledge of the social world in which individuals were inserted. The research material - made of materials produced by students daily teacher and field recordings of lessons - emerged two units of analysis: a) Working mathematical content, measures units and estimates, through instruments usually missing in action school; b) Learning processes, strategies and comparisons linked to forms of children's lives. This research led to the reflection on the teaching of mathematics from the ways of life of students, discussing the importance of mathematics in kindergarten and different ways of operating with mathematical concepts.
