| dc.description.abstract | A aplicação de cultura popular como uma ferramenta de ensino e aprendizagem permite a aproximação entre teoria e realidade, incentivando o aluno a tornar-se um interprete ativo e um melhor analista de seu próprio mundo. Compreender as Relações Internacionais por meio da ficção literária é uma forma de criar um paralelo com a realidade que permite que os alunos possam fazer suas próprias interpretações e aplicá-las aos eventos observados no mundo. Pensando nestas possibilidades, este trabalho procura analisar as Relações Internacionais à luz dos eventos do livro American Gods, de Neil Gaiman, relacionando as principais teorias das Relações Internacionais – Realismo, Liberalismo, Teorias de Gênero, Construtivismo e Pós-Colonialismo – com os fatos apresentados ao longo da obra. Fazendo uso de cultura popular, a monografia averiguou se o uso de mundos fantasiosos e personagens fictícios poderia ser uma forma de ensino diante das temáticas propostas pelas teorias das Relações Internacionais e se, de fato, essa aprendizagem poderia ser aplicada aos eventos que permeiam o cenário internacional. Defende-se que o exercício possibilita uma compreensão mais profunda das próprias teorias e do sistema internacional contemporâneo, uma vez que promove o entendimento dos temas e conceitos fundamentais da disciplina pelo rompimento de práticas docentes cotidianas e pelo oferecimento de novas formas de enxergar o mundo. | pt_BR |
| dc.description.abstract | The use of popular culture as a teaching and learning tool allows the approximation between theory and reality, encouraging the student to become an active interpreter and a better analyst of his own world. Understanding International Relations through literary fiction is a way of creating a parallel with reality that allows students to make their own interpretations and apply them to the events observed in the world. Thinking about these possibilities, this article seeks to analyze International Relations in light of the events of the American gods of Neil Gaiman, relating the main theories of International Relations - Realism, Liberalism, Gender Theories, Constructivism and Postcolonialism - with the facts presented through the paper. Using popular culture, the monograph investigated whether the use of fantasy worlds and fictional characters could be a form of teaching in the face of the themes proposed by International Relations theories and whether, in fact, this learning could be applied to the events that permeate the scene International. It is argued that the exercise allows for a deeper understanding of the theories and the contemporary international system, since it promotes the understanding of the fundamental themes and concepts of the discipline through the breakdown of everyday teaching practices and the offer of new ways of seeing the world. | pt_BR |
