O presente estudo com o título A Comunidade ribeirinha Santo Antônio do Rio Morais/Amazônia: história e território, ocorre a partir das relações ribeirinhas com o ambiente e a produção do seu território desde a sua fundação, em 1978, até o tempo presente, 2021, perfazendo pouco mais de 40 anos. Localizada na zona rural do município de Maués/Am, latitude 3°24’05”S e longitude 57°40’11”W, a 5,5 km distante do centro da cidade, o objeto da pesquisa é constituído por 56 famílias totalizando 380 moradores. Os problemas norteadores da pesquisa são: a) Como a comunidade Santo Antônio do Rio Morais foi criada? b) Que motivações levaram a isto? c) Como era a paisagem do local antes e como mudou ao longo dos quarenta e dois anos de existência do lugar? d) Quais sãos as festividades, o que teve continuidade e o que foi transformado? e) Qual é a relação do ribeirinho com a natureza, suas percepções sobre o ambiente onde vive? O objetivo geral da investigação consiste em entender a formação da Comunidade Santo Antônio do Rio Morais e suas mudanças ao longo da história, desde sua fundação pela igreja católica em 1978 até 2021, considerando suas origens e a relação de seus moradores com o ambiente. Como metodologia trata-se de um estudo de caso alinhado a pesquisa qualitativa, de caráter exploratório e natureza descritiva. Dentre os procedimentos metodológicos, destaca-se a revisão bibliográfica, a pesquisa documental e pesquisa de campo com a aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas, história oral e diário de campo. Como resultado aponta-se a descrição da história e da formação do território da comunidade, as transformações ocorridas ao longo do tempo, assim como as mudanças na paisagem, a cultura e as reatualizações culturais como dinâmicas sociais importantes para a permanência do ribeirinho em seu ambiente. Ao final se discute possibilidades de enfrentamento de desafios futuros com soluções voltadas ao desenvolvimento de tecnologias socias, a exploração sustentável dos recursos naturais através do ecoturismo e da organização social para beneficiar os comunitários.
The present study with the title The Community riparian Santo Antonio do Rio Morais/Amazon: history and territory, occurs from the riparian relations with the environment and the production of its territory since its founding in 1978, until the present time, 2021, making a little over 40 years. Located in the rural area of Maués/Am, latitude 3°24'05 "S and longitude 57°40'11 "W, 5.5 km from the city center, the object of the research consists of 56 families totaling 380 residents. The guiding problems of the research are: a) How was the Santo Antônio do Rio Morais community created? b) What motivations led to this? c) What was the landscape of the place like before and how did it change over the forty-two years of existence of the place? d) What are the festivities, what has continued and what has been transformed? e) What is the relationship of the riverside dweller with nature, his perceptions of the environment where he lives? The general objective of the investigation is to understand the formation of the Santo Antônio do Rio Morais Community and its changes throughout history, since its foundation by the Catholic Church in 1978 until 2021, considering its origins and the relationship of its residents with the environment. As methodology, this is a case study aligned with qualitative research, of exploratory character and descriptive nature. Among the methodological procedures, we highlight the bibliographic review, the documentary research and field research with the application of semi-structured interviews, oral history and field diary. As a result, the description of the history and formation of the territory of the community, the transformations that have occurred over time, as well as changes in the landscape, culture, and cultural re-updating are important social dynamics for the permanence of the riverside dweller in his environment. At the end, we discuss possibilities of facing future challenges with solutions focused on the development of social technologies, the sustainable exploitation of natural resources through ecotourism and social organization to benefit the community.
