PPGSAS enables and trains multidisciplinary professionals in the use, development and innovation of sustainable technologies and practices. It has two programs of studies: Environmental Legal Protection, and Sustainability of the Productive Chain. PPGSAS prepares professionals who can interact with producers, agro-industries and entrepreneurial professionals and understand the environmental legislation relevant to the licensing of projects.
Thus, PPGSAS has excellent possibilities in the scope of environmental development and in the subsidy public policies in the environmental area, bringing direct benefits in terms of legal actions, recognition of the environmental bases that guide production processes, as well as developing alternatives that add value to regional agribusiness production in a sustainable way. PPGSAS seeks to combine basic and applied research with regional demands for products and processes, without excluding national and international insertion.
- To train qualified professionals capable of generating, disseminating and applying scientific, technological and legal knowledge focused on the agri-food system, subsidizing an integrated view of socio-environmental and economic perspectives in family agro-industrial production, and the licensing processes of enterprises, productive sustainability and treatment waste.
- To promote the specialization and continuous training of higher education graduates,
making them able to deal with environmental legislation related to enterprises and
production processes, expanding the possibilities of performance and insertion
in the labor market;
- To train professionals to apply theoretical and practical knowledge in the various areas
of family agroecological production, with knowledge in the area of management and entrepreneurship,
encouraging innovation, the use of clean technologies and with technological development;
- To train professionals with knowledge of the legislation, with competence in guiding
sustainable production in family property, environmental agencies and companies, promoting
integration between these sectors through research and extension actions, as a way to contribute
to regional development;
- To create and improve products and processes in the regional socioeconomic context,
focusing on family and industrial food production, combining the preservation of natural
resources and sustainable exploitation, with a view to adding value and improving the
quality of life;
- To implement, in conjunction with local organizations, knowledge and compliance
with environmental legislation linked to developed projects, promoting technological
innovations that add value to products and services in line with public policies for regional
development.
- The graduate with a master's degree in Sustainable Environmental Systems will be able
to generate and disseminate scientific, technological and legal knowledge aimed at the
food production chain, subsidizing an integrated view of socio-environmental and economic
perspectives in family agro-industrial production, and the licensing processes of enterprises,
productive sustainability and adequate waste treatment;
- The masters in the program of studies of environmental legal guardianship will be professionals
with mastery of Brazilian environmental legislation applied to the licensing of enterprises,
process auditing and experts in the legislation in the various legal spheres. They will also be
competent in the assessment of biological factors associated with licensing processes, being
committed to environmental preservation, biosafety and modern environmental safety precepts;
- Professionals graduated in the area of sustainability of the production chain will be
able to enter the labor market, seeking solutions using environmentally appropriate tools
for sustainable development, advancing public policies, improving processes and production
chains, emphasizing clean technologies or alternatives. They will also be qualified for the
application of agricultural and agro-industrial quality and productivity processes aimed at
reducing the use of pesticides, the proper management of waste, the generation of alternative
energies and the diversification and increase of production, leading to the environmental and
economic sustainability of the properties and developments.
- They will be professionals able to enter the job market and seek environmentally
appropriate solutions, work in multidisciplinary teams, have an ethical-professional sense,
social and environmental responsibility, aiming at improving the quality of life of family
properties.
